Here is the recipe for making your own laundry soap that is not a detergent:
1(4lb. 12oz.) Box Borax
1(3lb.) container OxyClean
2(14.1oz.) Zote Soap or Fels Naptha (I used a food processor to shred it)
2(2.lb.) boxes of Baking Soda
1 Purex Crystals Fabric Softener (optional)
Mix it up and use it in place of your regular laundry detergent. I am using about
Okay, so now here are the supplements I am using to prevent migraines or headaches:
350 mg Fever Few
100 mg vitamin B2
500 mg magnesium
I am taking this twice a day. If you notice a headache starting take your next dose right away.
Allow some time for the Fever Few to build up in your system. This isn't a pain killer it is a preventative.
I hope these recipes help someone out there! I appreciate having them :)

I enjoyed your laundry soap method. I make ours as well, using a slightly different recipe. I sure enjoy not buying it at the store!
ReplyDeleteI am stopping by from Ravelry. Best of luck to you with your new blog. :)
I keep wanting to make soap, but haven't yet. Does this make a dry laundry soap? I think I have the ingredients for a wet one too. It makes like a 5 gallon batch.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you again this last weekend. We were at Beverly Beach camping from Thursday to Saturday and we came through your area on Saturday, at least where I think you live. :) You say you are off the grid. Do you know of that one hill that used to have a nice windmill on it? We noticed it was gone this time. It's always been a landmark for me and I will miss it.
Hey Tammy, wow, just noticed your comment. The soap is a dry laundry soap. Somewhere I did see a recipe for a liquid soap using a liquid castile soap as the base.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I noticed it was gone too, still is. Apparently it wasn't producing enough power to make it worth the repairs, I am assuming it got damaged in one of our wind storms. I thought I remembered seeing it down right after one of those.
